WHO Donates Women’s Cancer Care Equipment To Zimbabwe

The World Health Organisation (WHO) Zimbabwe has stepped in to make a contribution to advancing women’s health in the country by donating medical equipment valued at over US$200,000.

The equipment was handed over to the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

The Cancer care equipment is meant to strengthen women’s integrated cancer services and will be deployed to Shabwe Clinic in Beitbridge and Hurungwe District Hospital.

The consignment includes thermo-ablative devices, colposcopes, biopsy and histology equipment, ultrasound and ECG machines, digital diagnostic tools, 4 gynaecology examination couches, 7 stethoscopes, 8 peak flow meters, 11 glucometers, 7 pulse oximeters, 2 laptops, and 5 desktop computers.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care said that the support aligns with Zimbabwe’s broader commitment to ‘Health for All by 2030,’ a national vision that prioritises accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for every citizen.
