Zim Records 4 627 Covid-19 Deaths

Statistics from the Ministry of Health and Child Care show that one more Covid-19 deaths were recorded in Zimbabwe yesterday with 66 people testing positive of the virus.

The deaths were recorded in Bulawayo bringing the total number of deaths in Zimbabwe to 4 627.

“35 new cases (all local) and 2 deaths were reported today,7 day rolling average for new cases falls to 215 today from 227 yesterday) high number of cases constituting 14% of cases reported today Manicaland (3) and Mash East (2) are from outbreaks detected in schools.

“As of 02 October 2021 at 1500hrs, there were 61 hospitalised cases, new admitions,Asymotomatic11 mild to moderate 46, severe 4 and 0 in intensve care units.

“Yesterday, Zimbabwe had 131 129 confirmed cases, including 123 787 recoveries and 4 627, to date a total of 3 111 885 people have been vaccinated.

“2 016 test done today (positivity) today was 1,7 while there are 250 recoveries and National recovery  rose to 94% and active cases go down to 2175,as of today Zimbabwe has recorded 131 129 cases 123 787 recoveries and 4 627 deaths,” read the statement from the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of health said 5 783 people received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 3 111 885 while 9 970 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 2 312 337 as at 1600hrs.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness.
