Suspended MDC T Vice President, Dr Thokozani Khupe has challenged MDCT leader Douglas Mwonzora by forming her own party bearing the same name Democratic Change Tsvangirai MDC T.
Addressing journalists and fans in Bulawayo this afternoon, Khupe said from today there will be two MDC T parties, one led by herself and the other one being led by Douglas Mwonzora.
“This day the 21st of January in the year of our Lord 2022 i announce that the Movement for Democratic Change Tsvangirai has split and they are now two MDC T formations.
“One led by yours truly Dr Thokozani Khupe and the other led by Douglas Mwonzora.” Khupe said.
Thokozani Khupe was yesterday suspended from the Douglas Mwonzora led party in the latest signs of the bitter fall-out between the former allies.
Thokozani Khupe’s lawyer Nqobani Sithole however had purported the suspension of Khupe as null and void.
He stressed that Mwonzora expelled himself from the party by declaring himself leader of the MDC Alliance.
