The Government has eased the lockdown regulations today the 28th of January on the back of a sustained decrease in Covid 19 infections.
In a statement today, acting health minister Amon Murwira said that it seemed as though the country is now at the tail end of the 4th wave as infections continued to decline.
The Government, through the acting President Rtd Gen CGN Chiwenga ordered the opening of schools on the 7th of February.
In reviewing the lockdown, the government also eased curfew hours from 9PM TO between 0000hr and 5:30AM.
It also encouraged the business sector to get back to working from offices while observing set Covid 19 protocols such as social distancing, masking and sanitization.
Restaurants and hotels will now operate from 0800hrs to 2200hrs, while bars and bottlestores open from 0800hrs to 2200hrs for vaccinated patrons only.
Those visiting or returning to Zimbabwe will still need to produce a negative PCR test not more than 48hrs old.
Quarantine for locals, returning residents and visitors is lifted for those fully vaccinated.
