Citizens Coalition for Change {CCC} leader advocate Nelson Chamisa last Sunday rubbished the Zanu Pf party’s accusations pertaining Kwekwe violence.
Chamisa was responding to last week’s statement by ZANU PF’s Secretary for Information and Publicity, Christopher Mutsvangwa who said “the opposition planned the Kwekwe violence to tarnish the ruling party image.”
Speaking at Mkoba Stadium in Gweru where he addressed thousands of CCC supporters to drum up support for the upcoming March 26 by elections, Chamisa reiterated that CCC will not engage in violence because it is a political party, which represents democracy.
Chamisa said it is senseless for him to take Zanu Pf “thugs” and involve them in CCC operations.
“Zanu Pf members listen we are different from you. We do not walk on top of graves on our way to the state house, we walk with Jesus.
“I heard my brother Mutsvangwa saying, “I stage managed the Kwekwe violence”, and I said, “How can I stage manage? How can I take thugs inside your party to be part of my act? You know people who caused violence, that’s why you are silent because you know your behavior,” said Chamisa.
Last week, Chamisa also accused Zanu PF members, who were arrested for violence, of planning to petrol bomb the Kwekwe rally under the instruction of unnamed top Zanu PF leaders.
