Three people have died on the spot, and 18 others injured in a head-on collision that occurred along Harare- Bulawayo Road at the 133 km peg.
A Nissan caravan with 18 passengers on board collided with a Mazda 323 carrying one passenger on board.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the driver of the Nissan caravan and the two occupants of the Mazda 323 died on the spot.
Posting on a Twitter handle, the police confirmed about the weekend accident.
“The ZRP confirms the death of three people and injury of 18 others in a road traffic accident that occurred at the 133 km peg along Harare- Bulawayo Road on 26/06/22 at about 1500 hours.
“A motorist, who was driving a Nissan Caravan vehicle with 18 passengers on board, collided head-on with a Mazda 323 with one passenger on board. The driver of the Nissan Caravan and the two occupants of the Mazda 323 vehicle died on the spot,” reads the police tweet.
Head-on collision accidents continue to claim human life, as witnessed by the recent ZUPCO buses accident, which claimed seven lives and injured 32 along the Harare-Chinhoyi highway.
