Zimbabwean News You Can Trust
Zambian politician Joseph Kalimbwe has castigated the Zimbabwean government for building a school in rural Zambia.
Kalimbwe said Zimbabwe was supposed to address its infrastructural backlog in areas like Gokwe and Bindura first before setting eyes in Zambia.
“The republic of Zimbabwe built and handed over this school this week in rural Zambia.
“Not to be unappreciative or anything but I feel this is a misplaced priority.
“While schools in Gokwe and Bindura are failing apart, why not build schools there. What is Zimbabwe try to prove?” said disgruntled Kalimbwe.
Meanwhile, in response to his comments, Zanu PF Patriots said there was nothing wrong for Zimbabwe to assist Zambia to develop its infrastructure as the two nations share a strong historical background.
“Zimbabwe remains forever grateful and indebted to the People of Zambia.
“Zambia assisted Zimbabwe during the liberation struggle.” said Zanu PF Patriots.
Kalimbwe who is an official in the ruling party United Party for National Development, has been critical to the Government of Zimbabwe under President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
Despite Kalimbwe’s criticism the government claims that it has spent over $2,5 billion on infrastructure projects in Zimbabwe. Some of the projects that the government has done in Zimbabwe includes the expansion of the Hwange 7 and 8 Thermal Power Project, the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport Expansion, borehole rehabilitation and drilling, and the construction of the new Parliament Building.
Currently, the government is working on the construction of the Mbudzi roundabout Interchange and the rehabilitation of the Harare Beitbridge Highway which is almost 70% complete.
