Armed Robbers Break Into Company Premises And Rob Security At Gun Point

Six unknown assailants allegedly broke into a Warehouse in Chitungwiza and tied up the security guards before getting away with a loaded 5 tonne Tata truck.

According to a report made to the police, the truck was loaded with unknown quantities of boom washing powder and wild cat energy drinks.

Zimbabwe Republic Police Provincial (ZRP) spokesperson for Harare, Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident.

“Complainant was doing his perimeter checks around the company and when he was at the main car park, he came across six male accused persons who had entered the company premises through the eastern side after removing durawall panels.

“One of the accused produced a pistol and pointed it on complainant’s forehead whilst the other accused tied complainant’s hands from the back joined together with his legs. One of the accused was left guarding the complainant in the car park whilst the other accused persons proceeded to the guardroom upon which they met complainant’s colleague Shingirai Gandiwa.

“The accused persons force marched complainant’s colleague to the car park and they also tied her hands from the front. Another accused person took the truck car keys which were hanged in the guardroom, and drove away the motor vehicle, a TATA delivery truck [5 tonne], white in colour, registration AFN 1202.

“Truck was loaded with unknown quantities of boom washing powder and wild cat energy drinks. After the accused had left, Shingirai Gandiwa proceeded to the warehouse entrance where she triggered the response security alarm. The response team arrived and untied the two.

“A police report was filed at Z.R.P. Mbare. Scene was attended by both Z.R.P. Mbare and C.I.D. Homicide. Total value stolen is yet to be ascertained and nothing has been recovered yet,” reads the docket.
