Highfield Man Abducted In Broad Daylight As Wife Watches In Horror

A Highfield woman watched in horror as four unidentified men allegedly abducted her husband in broad daylight.

Allegations are that on an unspecified date Jacquiline Tsitsi and her husband were home when a knock was heard on the gate.

Tsitsi’s husband, 44yr old Nelson Makwena reportedly went to attend to the knock, after which an argument ensured between him and one of the suspects. Its alleged that the suspect’s 3 accomplices then bundled Mukwena into a waiting car before disappearing with him.

He is yet to be found.

After witnessing the alleged abduction, Mukwena’s wife proceeded to Machipisa Police Station where she reported the matter.

According the report, Tsitsi was not able to take down the number plate of the vehicle nor identify its make.

Harare Provincial Police spokesperson Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.

“Informant was at home with her husband Nelson Mukwena, aged 44, when the accused called the husband by name from outside the gate. The informant’s husband went to meet the unknown accused at the gate.

“Informant peeped through the window and noticed that the gate was wide open and there was tension between her husband and the accused. Informant followed outside and noted that the accused were forcing her husband to get into a grey twin cab vehicle. She did not see the make of the vehicle and the number plate.

“The accused managed to put informant’s husband into the vehicle and sped off. The whereabouts of the informant’s husband are not known until now. The informant reported the matter at ZRP Machipisa, and the scene was attended with no arrests. Investigations are in progress at ZRP Machipisa,” reads the docket.
