The Palestine Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr. Tamer Almassri, has condemned Israel’s military recruitment of African migrants to fight in Gaza, in exchange for citizenship, describing the act as a “confirmation that Jewish supremacist racism knows no bounds”.
In a statement, the diplomat said Israel has not granted the “promised” citizenship to over 30 000 African asylum seekers and soldiers fighting for Israeli forces in Gaza. He added Israel is also exploiting African students, offering their parents permanent residents.
Almassri also called on the African Union (AU) and the international community to intervene and stop Israel for violating “international and humanitarian law”, insisting that the Jewish nation has always treated Africans as second class citizens, as evidenced by their jails.
” We condemn the exploitation of African emigrants by apartheid Israel through its military recruitment of African asylum seekers to fight in life-threatening operations in Gaza, in exchange for permanent residency status in Israel.
“More than 30,000 African asylum seekers living in Israel and those already on the battle ground in Gaza, none of them have been granted permanent status. Israel has also explored the possibility of drafting the children of asylum seekers, who were educated in Israeli schools, into the Israeli occupation army in exchange for granting status to their immediate family members.
“The state of Palestine calls on the African Union, African regional bodies, and international rights groups to condemn this crime of extortion on needy people that reflects the racists and Jewish supremacist behavior of apartheid Israel,” he said.
According to Dr. Almassri, Israel adopted a plan to expel tens of thousands of African asylum seekers in 2018. The diplomat stressed that Israel is reportedly the biggest hub of illegal global trade in human organs.
