Ex-Chegutu West MP Dexter Nduna Remanded In Custody For Illegally Obtaining Parking Fees From Motorists

Diligent Dexter Nduna, a former member of parliament (MP) for Chegutu West, has been brought before the courts on allegations that he unlawfully collected parking fees from drivers in Chegutu.

The 53-year-old politician from Zanu PF was charged with fraud when he appeared in court on Tuesday at Chegutu Magistrates Court, and his request for bail was denied. He was placed under routine remand in custody until October 29, 2024.

Prosecutor Tafadzwa Vhore is leading the State’s case, which alleges that the former lawmaker misled drivers by claiming that Team Chapter, a business connected to him, was now in charge of collecting parking fees in the farming town and other locations across the nation.

Prosecutors argue Nduna acted unlawfully.
