Musindo Fires Back at Kasukuwere, Biti Over Tagwirei Criticism

Reverend Obedia Musindo, leader of Destiny For Africa Network, has come out swinging in defense of business mogul Dr. Kudakwashe Tagwirei, pushing back against criticism from former cabinet heavyweights Saviour Kasukuwere and Prof. Tendai Biti.

In a recent interview, Rev. Musindo emphasized that Dr. Tagwirei is laser-focused on delivering President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Economic Empowerment Program, a flagship initiative aimed at creating 30,000 millionaires and driving national prosperity.

Rev. Musindo stressed that Dr. Tagwirei’s efforts are squarely aligned with the President’s vision, prioritizing the empowerment of Zimbabweans over personal political ambitions. “Dr. Tagwirei has never signaled any interest in the presidency,” Rev. Musindo noted, “his commitment is to the Second Republic’s agenda and President Mnangagwa’s vision for a prosperous Zimbabwe.”

The reverend highlighted Dr. Tagwirei’s pivotal role in supporting the ruling party, Zanu-PF, and his behind-the-scenes work to stabilize the nation. However, Dr. Tagwirei’s recent ascension to a Zanu-PF Central Committee member has sparked speculation about potential political ambitions, with some wondering if he might be positioning himself for a future presidential bid.

Rev. Musindo also launched a scathing attack on Kasukuwere’s track record, describing him as “brutal and corrupt” in his dealings, particularly in Mashonaland Central Province.

In contrast to Kasukuwere and Biti’s perceived reliance on Western powers, Rev. Musindo praised Dr. Tagwirei’s ability to generate wealth and empower citizens through indigenous initiatives. He emphasized the importance of programs like the Economic Empowerment Programme in unlocking opportunities for Zimbabwe’s youth.

When questioned about Dr. Tagwirei’s alleged presidential aspirations, Rev. Musindo cited Dr. Tagwirei’s own words: “My mandate is clear – implement the President’s program. I won’t waste energy on something that doesn’t exist.” Dr. Tagwirei added, “There’s no vacancy for the presidency, and the President is firmly in place until 2030.”
