Ousted Matemadanda Earmarked For A Diplomatic Post

Former Zanu Pf Political Commissar Victor Matemadanda is set to be granted a diplomatic post after being fired during a Zanu Pf politburo meeting in Harare last week.

Presidential Spokesperson, George Charamba said the former Political Commissars removal was President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s discretion adding that a number of Zimbabwe embassies did not have representatives hence there was need to fill in those posts.

“(Cde) Matemadanda was not fired, but he has been reassigned for a higher responsibility out of the country.

“A number of our embassies have no representatives, hence there is a need to fill in those vacant posts. But it’s up to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s  discretion on assigning the individuals. There are a number of reassignments that are going to be taking place.” said Charamba.

Matemadanda’s removal means that he will lose other powerful posts such as that of defence deputy minister and being a Zanu-PF politburo and central committee member.

The firebrand Gokwe Central MP will also likely lose his parliamentary seat and his position as Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans’ Association secretary-general.

Recently Matemadanda was quoted telling party structures that Zanu PF was behind the decimation of the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa when he was addressing party structures in Marondera last week.

“As we speak, the MDC Alliance is going down. This is because the likes of Chamisa unscrupulously rose to power. The party is melting like a burning candle. We are not yet through very soon we will be announcing what we call big names. They are coming back home. Now Chamisa is crying accusing Zanu PF of being behind his demise. Do you think that we liberated this country to surrender it? If that is the case, then we need to be examined by psychiatrists. Do you think that we missed a greater part of our youth days liberating this country to donate it? Are we donors? We will defend ourselves. “said Matemadanda.

Matemadanda  was appointed Deputy Minister of Defence and war veterans affairs as well as Zanu PF National Commissar after the dismissal of Engelbert Rugeje last year from the same post.
