President Emmerson Mnangagwa has invited Indian Investors to come and invest in Zimbabwe as a result of numerous investor opportunities presented by the National Development Strategy 1 which cuts across all sectors of the Zimbabwean economy.
The President said this yesterday at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport where he received the first batch of 35 000 doses of Indian’s first indigenous Covid-19 vaccine which is the first consignment of the 75 000 doses of Covaxin donated by the Indian government.
The Zanu Pf first Secretary urged Indian investors to consider numerous investment opportunities presented by the National Development Strategy 1 which he said were all over the sectors of the Zimbabwean economy.
“I therefore want to take this opportunity to invite Indian investors to consider numerous investor opportunities presented by our country through National Development Strategy 1 which cuts across all sectors of our economy. Zimbabwe is open for business and all one stock investment center the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency [ZIDA] stand ready to facilitate investments from India.” said Mnangagwa.
Meanwhile, the President also expressed his gratitude to the Indian ambassador and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the government and the people of Zimbabwe.
“Your excellence Ambassador in the context of the strong gone friendship and cooperation that exist between our two countries on behalf of the government and people of Zimbabwe, l am pleased to accept this donation from my brother and prime Minister Minister Modi. l kindly request that you convey Zimbabwe’s deep heartfelt appreciation and the people to the government of India.” He said.
Mnangagwa added that the gift from the Indian Government was a welcome and timely intervention at a time when the country was fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This generous gift is welcome as a timely gesture of friendship, support and solidarity in the midst of these unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic. As you are aware, my Government has put in place measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Key among the strategies is the rollout of the vaccination programme to target 60 percent of our population towards the achievement of herd immunity,” he said.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration is trying to mend the broken relationship with the global community urging them to invest in Zimbabwe, a move that will boost the Zimbabwean Economy.
