Talented dancer and singer Sandra Ndebele Sibindi has urged fellow music artists to be educated so as to improve the creative sector of arts industry.
Sandra who recently enrolled with the Midlands State University for a Bachelor of Social Sciences Music Business, Musicology and Technology Honors undergraduate degree, urged fellow artistes to strive and improve their education as it is the key benefit that will help improve the arts sector.
“Let’s educate ourselves as artists to improve the creative sector of the arts industry. You can do it and I’m a living testimony,” Sandra Ndebele said in an interview at the university main campus in Gweru yesterday where she was preparing to write level 1:1 examinations.
The mother of three added that she decided to enroll at the university with the hope that she could achieve more with her music and businesses if she was educated.
“I’ve been there, done that and travelled the world. I have it all but l have no education. The reason I went back to school is that I felt I could be far from my musical career and other professions if I’d been educated,” She said.
Sandy, as she is fondly known by her fans made headlines in 2016 after she sat for O-level Mathematics exams at the age of 34.
Ndebele passed the supplementary mathematics paper in 2016 and went on to pass her A-level subjects in 2020 which has landed her the University level.
