Lockdown Regulations Relaxed

Government has relaxed Lockdown Measures allowing businesses to operate at least 12 hours a day.

Addressing journalists during a media briefing at the State House this evening, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said business will now operate from 6.30 am to 6.30 pm.

“As part of gradually opening the economy, Government has extended operation hours for the retail, wholesale and service businesses from 8am – 4.30pm to 6.30am – 6.30pm,”

Minister Mutsvangwa encouraged the public to always take precaution measures to fight against the Covid-19.

“As we gradually open the economy, we need to remember that we are doing this, while taking all necessary precautions to fight the invisible enemy, Covid-19. The easing of lockdown restrictions is not an indication that we have defeated this pandemic, but we are a nation seeking to balance between our economic interests and the protection of life,” she said.

Meanwhile, minister Mutsvangwa said the Government is working on resumption of operations at Victoria Falls International Airport with staff training.

“The readiness of other ports of entry is under assessment and the nation will be advised,” she said.
