Government will be offering Zimbabwean dollar equivalent to US$500 to dead civil servants as a way of offering compassion, government spokesperson Nick Mangwana said.
Posting on his twitter handle, Mr Mangwana said in case of the un fortunate incident of death, the money will provide for the bereaved family.
“We hope no colleague within the Civil Service has died or is going to die today. But should that tragic event happen, as a compassionate bereavement response, Govt will give them a ZWL$ equivalent of US$500 for Funeral Assistance,
“This comes in hand for the bereaved family.” He said.
In June this year government also promised to give civil servants Covid -19 allowances of US$7o.
