BAZ Awarded Licences To 3 Community Radio Stations

The Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) has awarded broadcasting licences to three community radio stations namely Manama, Mbembei and Nyangani.

In a statement, BAZ said these licences were granted to areas with less competition and applicants in areas with competition are yet to be licenced.

“The Authority advices that applicants submitted in areas with competition, are yet to be finalised, as Applications are yet to submit all information required for the Authority to make an informed determination on the applications.

“The Authority hopes to complete the processing of the applications beginning of next year.” They said.

BAZ invited for applications for the provision of community radio service licences in February this year.

BAZ also awarded University of Zimbabwe and Midlands State University campus radio licences.
