Six houses in Ntabazinduna Ward 5 in Matabeleland North were yesterday destroyed by heavy rains with strong winds.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Of Information, Mr Nick Mangwana confirmed this on his twitter handle.
”Six homesteads were destroyed by strong winds in Ntabazinduna area Ward 5 yesterday.” The post reads.
The Meteorological Services Department (Met) predicted heavy rains in Matabeleland Province and most parts of this country this whole week.
Meanwhile, the Herald reported that 31 people were drowned as rivers are flooding during this rain season.
Some reported incidents shows that during this period, many households have been destroyed by strong winds and heavy rains.
Twelve (12) households were destroyed in Bulilima District Mashonaland South Province, 8 in Buhera and many others.
