Government has given the green light to the Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) and the Traffic Safety Council to resume operation.
The Minister of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa urged drivers to continue adhearing to WHO guidelines as they go for their driving tests and lessons at the VID.
”By giving green light to Vehicle Inspection Department (VID), we expect it and the people aspiring to be drivers to continue observing the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.” She said.
VID depots closed when the government imposed the national lockdown in March last year as part of measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Casinos may resume businesses soon as the Cabinet is seized with their requests to open amid phased reopening of the economy following a decline in Covid-19 cases.
The cabinet also agreed to focus on strengthening surveillance systems to curb the spread of the Covid -19 ahead of Easter Holidays.
