The Harare City Council has announced a major water pipe burst that will see most towns suffering water cuts from today until tomorrow.
In a statement yesterday, the City council said they stopped pumping water to affected areas so as to enable repairs of the burst pipe.
“City of Harare is notifying residents of a major water pipe burst on our line from Warren Control pump station to Letombo Reservoirs. We have stopped pumping to enable repairs on the burst pipe.
“Affected areas include industrial areas, Highfield, parts of Mbare and other western suburbs.” The statement read.
The work is expected to be completed by end of day today.
Meanwhile, the City council said there will be shut down of Morton Jaffray tomorrow and Kuwadzana will be affected completely whilst other areas will experience low pressure.
“There shall be a partial shutdown on Thursday 15 April 2021 to enable repairs on leakages on the line from Morton Jaffray. Kuwadzana will be affected.
“There shall be low pressure around the City as a result of reduced pumping capacity.” The statement further read.
The Harare City Council urged Residents to use the available water wisely.
