Bishop Elson Makanda’s Son Repents At Chikurubi

Christian Faith Ministries, Bishop Elson Makanda’s son says he repented while saving his jail sentence of fraud charges at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.

The forty three year old, Praymore Makanda confessed his repentance at Connemara Open Prison in Kwekwe last week as he promised that he was going to continue preaching and spreading the word of God even after prison life.

Addressing journalists, Makanda narrated how he repentant  at Chikurubi Maximum Prison as he also gave his religious background adding that previously he was a man who was not fully attached to church activities despite that his father was a pastor.

“My father is a Bishop, l have got a church background and the name of my fathers church is Christian Faith Ministries but by the time l was born we were going to ZAOGA so l’m one person who had this spiritual belief but l was not really routed there. There are times when a person just goes to church for the sake of going and being son of a pastor you just follow but then the 5th of November 2017 was my turning point which a lot of people would have believed but by just changing my plea it was a complete revolution to my life.

“So l went to Chikurubi Maximum Prison and then l started saving and then God miraculously brought a certain man in my life and this man was a prison officer, he used to come everyday and start preaching to me l don’t even know him he started preaching and correcting me as if we knew each other and that is where my life changed as l observed that all the things that l was doing in the past were wrong,” he said.

The Former Principal Director of the then Centre Enterprises Private Limited Company also added that his spiritual revolution also helped him to advocate against homosexuality in prison but he insisted that he was never a victim of sexual abuse whilst at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.

“In prison you meet a lot of people and in a man’s prison the biggest challenge would be the spirit of homosexuality that picks a lot of people and if you beat that, there is nothing difficult.

“I have never been a victim of homosexual but l was a person who always advocate against it, Chikurubi Maximum Prison knew me as the best person who advocates against homosexuality having been connected to Christianity we were always preaching about how bad it is,” added Makanda.

Praymore Makanda was sentenced to 16 years in prison facing fraud charges and was transferred to Chikurubi Maximum Prison on the 7th of November 2017.

The 43 year old is saving his remaining jail term at Connemara Open Prison which is 30kilometres from Kwekwe town.
