Police To Strictly Enforce Covid -19 Regulations

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) says they will enforce Chiwenga’s revised Covid-19 regulations “without fear or favour.”

In a statement yesterday, ZRP said they will make sure that all gatherings are banned and that only 30 people will be attending funerals.

“The public should take note that the police will ensure that all gatherings except funerals are banned and compliance is strictly adhered to. Mourners are implored to stick to the stipulated figure of 30 people and observe all Covid -19 protocols.” The statement read.

The Police added that all those found drinking beer at bottle stores, inside vehicles and surrounding areas will be arrested.

They said police patrol at beer halls will be the order of the day.

“Patrol, blitz and monitoring will be done by Police to ensure that beer halls, bars and night clubs remain closed. Bottle store owners should strictly observe the given operational time of 1000 hours to 1600 hours. The police said.

Restaurants were not left behind.

“Restaurants and fast foods outlets should observe the law and ensure that they only save take-aways as pronounced by the government.” The statement further read.

The Vice President, Constantino Chiwenga who is also the Minister of Health outlined the new Covid-19 regulations on Saturday.
