How To Be On The Harare Residential Waiting List- HCC

Owning a house in Harare has always been a dream for most Zimbabweans and having a Harare house is one of the biggest achievement many strive to get.

Most people have however go the wrong way in acquiring Harare residential stands and therefore ended up being duped by bogus land barons.

We therefore took time to talk to the Harare City Council spokesperson, Mr Michael Chideme and he walk us through the road to acquire a residential stand in Harare the legal way.

“If you want to be on the waiting list, you make an application to the housing department at Rememberance in Mbare and you pay an administration fee and automatically you are on the housing waiting list.

“That allows you to be considered for stand allocation. When the stands are available, you are then invited for interviews. The interviews are basically to see whether you have capacity to construct the residential property.

“The interview is also to verify whether you do not have property in the Harare Metropolitan Province that is Harare, Epworth and Chitungwiza. And those who already have properties there will not be considered.” Michael Chideme outlined.

Mr Chideme further advised the people to always report bogus agents and restrain from buying stands that are not verified by the City Council.
