Seed Co in partnership with the government of Zimbabwe and Cimas has launched a Covid-19 vaccinating drive targeting the Mandebvu community in Mount Harpden.
In an interview with 263times, Seed Co Public Relations Executive, Marjorie Mutemererwa said the vaccination drive is meant to protect the community against the Covid-19.
“We draw a lot of our staff from the Mandebvu community. We therefore say, what good is it for us to therefore have this successful vaccination on our staff when the community in which our employees come from are not vaccinated?” Mutemererwa said.
The Vaccination drive will run from today until Thursday July 29.
Mutemererwa said Seed Co seeks to vaccinate more that 2000 people by the end of the programme on Thursday.
“As you can see the turn out is very good and the complacency levels are excellent. There is social distasting, masking and sanitation.
“We think by the end of four days, we would vaccinate plus or minus 2000 people.” Added Mutemererwa.
A lot of people turned up during the Seed Co vaccination programme and those who spoke to this publication showed how grateful they are for the initiative that was brought to their community as most were facing transport challenges to travel to Harare for the jab
