Mane, Salah Closing In On Didier Drogba Record

Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane scored the second goal for Liverpool last weekend as his side beat Burnley 2-0 at Anfield on Saturday.

The Senegal talisman goal enabled him to move into the top four African top goalscorers of all time in the English Premier League. He has moved one step to close the record held by Chelsea legend Didier Drogba who has since retired from football.

Moreso, Mohammed Salah is also on the top flight of African top goalscores with 98 goals in 160 appearances.

Liverpool and Chelsea have 6 points each whilst they also have the same goal difference however Chelsea is currently on top of the table.

Nevertheless, they will play a penultimate match on Saturday which will decide the actual team which will be on top.

Although Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are likely to surpass a record that was set by Didier Drogba of scoring 104 goals in 254 appearances they are other African established greats who also scored in the premiere league like Emmanuel Adebayor who scored  98 goals in 242 appearances and Yakubu Ayegbeni who scored 95 goals in 252 appearances.
