
Zvishavane-based Premier Soccer League outfit, FC Platinum, have mutually parted ways with head coach Joel Luphahla and members of his technical team.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, FC Platinum confirmed the departure of Luphahla, thanking him for his service to the Zvishavane-based side.
“FC Platinum has mutually parted ways with Head Coach Joel Luphahla and members of his technical staff. We would like to express our gratitude to Coach Luphahla and his team for their dedication, hard work and contributions to the Club, and we wish them continued success in their future endeavours,” the club said.
The four-time league champions have moved swiftly to appoint a replacement, announcing Thabo Senong as the new head coach, subject to the completion of contractual and registration formalities.
Senong, a South African coach with extensive experience in youth development and top-flight football, is expected to usher in a new chapter at Mandava.
“The Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Thabo Senong as Head Coach, subject to the completion of contractual and registration formalities. We extend a warm welcome to Coach Senong as he joins the FC Platinum family, and we look forward to an exciting new chapter under his leadership,” the statement reads.
In the interim, the club said coaches Moses Mwafulira and Alexio Sigion will take charge of training and preparations for the team.
FC Platinum’s 2-0 defeat to MWOS at Ngoni Stadium on Saturday, 25 July 2026 proved to be Luphahla’s final match in charge of Pure Platinum Play, at least for now.
