SA Set To Strengthen Economic Ties With Zimbabwe

The South African embassy says they look up to strengthening bilateral ties with Zimbabwe through supporting the country’s businesses and the economy at large.

Speaking during the relaunch of the South African Airways, Harare routes at Robert Mugabe International airport yesterday, South African Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Thizwilondi Mabudafhasi said the relaunch of the relationship between Zimbabwe and South Africa is one of her top priorities.

“I look up to strengthening our economic ties and this relaunch is a testimony to our cooperation.” She said.

She said even in the Covid-19 pandemic, the relaunch of the South African Airways is a milestone to economic recovery.

“It is with pleasure to be here today marking this milestone. We accept that Covid-19 has had tremendous effects to every economic activity. We are optimistic about the reopening of the tourism industry as we start to recover from the effects.

“We have been patiently waiting for the resumption of flights and I encourage you to support their return.” She said.

The South African ambassador said she believe that the South African Airways, “will fulfil an important role in our economies and creating that much needed employment and supporting our objectives.”
