Harare Residents To Receive Free Medication From Rotary Doctors

Harare residents who have health complications are set to receive free medication from Harare Rotarians charity club next year.

The Club is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a non-political and non-sectarian organization open to all people regardless of race, colour, creed, religion, gender, or political preference.

Rotarians usually gather weekly for breakfast, lunch, or dinner to fulfil their first guiding principle to develop friendships as an opportunity for service.

The Club emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support communities  driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation to support less privileged communities.

It was established in 2000.

Speaking at the launch of Rotary district conference for 2022 in Harare yesterday, District Governor for Rotary 9210 Mr Victor Mensah stressed that next year the club is going to have a day of service where they will provide free medical treatment to Harare residents and  promote environmental projects.

“This particular year 2022 Harare district we are going to have a Rotary Day of service where all participants who are coming are going to really get into the communities of Harare where Rotary doctors and professionals will be providing free service to various community members.

“We also want to take some environmental projects, plant some trees around and then projects on girls empowerment within that particular period and this will bring a lot of benefit to the community of Harare,” he said.

He also invited all willing stakeholders in Zimbabwe to come and join the charity club.

“We also invite NGO, development partners and government that deal with us to be able to undertake projects in our communities and we invite everybody to come and join us,” said Mensah.

Zimbabwe is part of Rotary International District 9210 which also includes Malawi, Northern Mozambique and Zambia.
