ZANU PF Political Commissar Dr Mike Bimha has today condemned political violence during the by elections campaign to be held on 26 March 2022.
Addressing Journalists in Harare, Dr Bimha said the party is pleased that the by elections campaign are proceeding peacefully.
He added that political violence is not the way to attain a democratic country for every voter, therefore every political party should embrace peace.
“We are satisfied that the campaigns are proceeding well in a structured and peaceful manner.
“As a party we do not believe that violence is part of a modern democratic means of engaging voters,” Bimha said.
“We are confident as a party that our record is clear, our plans are solid and the party structures are working flat out at local level to get the voters to understand our policies,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Bimha said there are other opposition leaders who are joining the party and the returnees are facilitating effective help to the party.
He added that Zanu PF is open for everyone to join.
“Recently there has been an interesting trend of people returning to ZANU PF from opposition parties, we are particularly happy to receive them, we confirm that we are receiving very helpful and effective facilitation from the leadership of these returnees under the “huyai kumusha” initiative.
“ZANU PF remains very welcoming to those that are returning to the party and we continue to make significant enrolls through the huyai kumusha initiative,” he said.
