Opposition Citizen Coalition For Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa has joined South Africa in celebrating their 28th Freedom day anniversary.
Posting on his twitter handle, Chamisa urged South Africans and the whole Africa at large to remain united saying we are one people.
“HAPPY FREEDOM DAY MZANSI. May the nation build on the solid foundations that exist and continue to shine on the African soil. We stand together united and indivisible for Africa’s greatness. We are ONE Africa with a shared history and a common destiny. Let freedom ring in Africa!”
“On this important & historic day, we wish our brother & sister people of South Africa a happy Freedom Day! From our common history in the Wankie & Sipolilo campaigns to the future, we are one people. Let us continue to strengthen our ties, friendship and unity. Mayibuye iAfrica.”
On 27 April 1994, South Africans from all walks of life voted in the first democratic elections, after many years of disenfranchisement of black people in South Africa.
The day therefore marks an important democratic breakthrough in the history of the country.
