Sikhala’s Bail Bid Flops

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) deputy chairperson, Job Sikhala and Chitungwiza North MP Hon Godfrey Sithole have been denied bail at Harare magistrate’S court today.

The duo are accused of inciting violence in Nyatsime following the death of CCC activist Moreblessing Ali.

They will appear back in court on July 6.

Deputy chief magistrate Gibson Mandaza presided over the case.

Meanwhile, CCC spokesperson Fadzai Mahere told journalists outside court that  Sikhala and Sithole were innocent and would make an urgent High Court application for bail.

“There is simply no evidence that connects Hon Job Sikhala and Hon Godfrey Sithole to crimes that took place in Nyatsime.

“The record shows that six of our members and six community leaders have their homes burned, so we see no justification for them to be held,” she said.

Sikhala and Sithole are facing charges of inciting inciting violence after violent scenes in Nyatsime at the funeral of slain party activist Moreblessing Ali. Ali was allegedly brutally murdered by Pius Jamba, a close relative of a notorious Zanu Pf terror gang leader.
