NetOne In Bulawayo Clean Up Campaign

Zimbabwe state owned mobile network operator NetOne, embarked on a clean up campaign today in Magwegwe, one of the oldest suburbs in Bulawayo.

The National Clean Up Campaign, which is held on the first Friday of each month, was launched by President Emmerson Mnangangwa in 2018 with the aim of encouraging citizens to live in a clean environment.

“President Mnangagwa has called upon every individual to equally honour this declaration to work together as a nation protecting the environment as the government is moving to ensure the country has sustainable environment management and waste disposal systems.

“The notion behind is for every citizen to get together and clean up the environment, coupled with recycling and reusing. This will go a long way in ensuring that we maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment,” reads the statement.

EMA, the Resident Minister of Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Hon. Judith Ncube, the Zimbabwe Defense Forces (ZDF), Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and the Ministry of Environment, among other key stakeholders, were also part of the campaign.
