T Freddy, the controversial prophet, returned to court Monday in a case in which he accuses his ex-girlfriend of extortion.
Rutendo Makuti, Witness Bungu (Chief Chikwaka), and Gibson Jaji appeared in front of Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti, who remanded the case to December 12.
Makuti filed an application for referral to the Constitutional Court Wednesday.
Makuti stated in her motion for referral that the factual basis of the application is that she reported Freddy for rape, and her co-accused testified as witnesses.
She said Freddy had the opportunity to cross-examine her on the extortion accusations she is currently facing.
The accused allegedly demanded that Freddy pay for allegedly raping Mukuti.
Makuti, Chief Chikwaka, and Jaji were detained after he reported the incident to the police.
Freddy was acquitted of the alleged rape of Makuti last year.
Anesu Chirenje represented the State.
