Eight Nabbed In SA For Allegedly Issuing Drivers licenses For Cash

Eight people have been arrested on corruption charges at North West and Northern Cape municipal licensing and testing centres.

During an operation on Wednesday, the six men and two women, aged between 35 and 49, were apprehended in Vryburg, Ganyesa and Letlhabile, in the North West, as well as in Kuruman, Northern Cape.

“The suspects reportedly conducted a number of unlawful drivers’ and learners’ licenses transactions in exchange for money,” said police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone.

All eight are expected to appear in the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
