West Bromwich Prepares For Nakamba’s Signature

Zimbabwean News You Can Trust.

English Championship side West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in signing Zimbabwean midfielder Marvelous Nakamba on loan from Aston Villa.

Nakamba, who has been openly told to leave Villa having been struggling for game time this season, is set to move before the end of the January transfer window at midnight today.

His agent revealed yesterday that he was working on finding the Hwange-raised midfielder a new club. According to the Birmingham Mail, West Brom has emerged as fronter runners for Nakamba’s signature on a loan deal.

Nakamba moved to Villa from Belgian side Club Brugge in 2019, and had a decent debut season in the English top-flight before the coach who signed him, Dean Smith, was sacked and replaced by former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

In total, Nakamba made 58 appearances for Villa and is one of only four Zimbabwean players to have featured in the English Premier League.
