The world’s most prestigious football tournament, the UEFA Champions League (UCL), which is the most-watched club competition in the world, is scheduled to start next week on Tuesday.
In the 2023/2024 UCL season, 78 teams will participate, with England, Spain, Italy, and Germany being the top four nations in the standings. These nations have four representatives each.
France and Portugal are ranked fifth and sixth, and they will have three teams, but other countries like Netherlands, Austria, Scotland, Serbia, Ukraine, Belgium, Switzerland, and Greece will have two football clubs each. All the remaining nations will have one participant.
Last season English Premier League {EPL} title holders, Manchester City won their first UCL trophy when they beat Italian giants Inter Milan 1-0 at AtatΓΌrk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
However, with their current fantastic form, the citizens will likely secure the trophy again if they manage to squeeze through and reach the final stages of the prestigious tournament for the third time.
