Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA), Board Chairman Dr George M Manyaya says the current state of roads in the country is worrisome and therefore they have set a budget of 17 billion ZWL for disbursements of funds for road maintenance to different provinces.
Addressing journalist in Harare today, Mr Manyaya said Minister of Transport and infrastructure Development Hournarable Felix Mhona is fulfilling the amendment of roads.
“Going forward, we have set and finalized the (ERRP2) Funding strategies as we are conscious of the urgency at hand in attending to road work, accordingly, we have set a budget of 17 billion ZWL for disbursements to provinces and major cities as indicated .
“Given the foregoing, ZINARA was mandated to mobilize the financing of the emergency road rehabilitation works and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development, Honourable Felix Mhona has left no stone unturned in spearheading the fulfilment of this national cause.
“The year 2021 was a highly useful year for ZINARA, in efficiently providing funding for the emergency road works necessitated by cyclone Idai and the incessant rains received during the 2020-2021 farming season,” said Manyaya.
