
Tinotenda Chipadza was recently brought before the Chegutu Magistrates’ Court facing murder charges.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, Elisha Munengerwa, who is now deceased, left Eddy’s Kite bar in Chegutu with his friend Scott Zowa on February 3rd at approximately 2:00 a.m.
Chipadza and his accomplice Enock who is still at large allegedly followed the now-dead and Scott until they parted ways at Scott Zowa’s residence. The accused person coninued pursuing the now deceased who had gone with his journey.
At around 0300hours, behind a tuck shop, Chipadza pounced on Munengerwa and stabbed on the upper left arm and forcibly took his Techno Camon cellphone. He fled the scene, leaving he deceased lying in a pool of blood.
The groaning was heard by a witness who was sleeping in the tuck shop. After investigating and discovering that the deceased was now dead and fighting for his life, the witness reported the incident to the police, who transported him to Chegutu Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.
Police investigation led to the accused person’s arrest after he sold the now deceased’s cellphone.
