MDC T National Chairman Morgen Komichi has called for an inclusive dialogue between political parties as he said it is the only way to move the country forward.
The call for dialogue was also made by some of the top leaders of the MDC-T such as Douglas Mwonzora, Morgen Komichi, Elias Mudzuri, among others.
On his twitter handle the MDC T Chairman said there was need for all political parties to engage in an inclusive dialogue and added that political parties need to set their difference aside to unite and dialogue so as to solve Zimbabwe’s economic crisis.
“Solution to Zimbabwean Economic Crisis lies in OUR HANDS. Let’s Unite and Dialogue. Cry the Beloved Country.” said Komichi.
Komichi who is now part of the MDC T was part of the MDC Alliance with Douglas Mwonzora before they moved to join Thokozani Khupe who was then the president of the MDC T.
The Former Deputy Minister Of Transport has been calling for a dialogue for a while as evidenced by his post on twitter on 14 February when he encouraged political parties to unite as a way to enable the implementation of positive electoral reforms on the coming 2023 General elections.
“National unity in Zimbabwe is a prerequisite for a successful Dialogue. Major agenda item is Electoral Reforms for 2023 General Election. The Opposition UNITED FRONT is the only platform to tackle comprehensive political and economic reforms in Zimbabwe. Failure to UNITE is a recipe for disaster come 2023 General Elections’.” he tweeted.
However UK based political Analyst Alex T Magaisa said MDC Alliance is clearly facing a serious challenge from an authoritarian regime which he said is the ruling party Zanu-PF, adding that it hopes to crush and fragment the opposition, inevitably destroying multi-party democracy in Zimbabwe.
“The ruling party created the surrogate opposition MDC-T to essentially disturb the MDC-Alliance. It is not a fight between factions in the opposition, but a fight by the ruling party against the opposition to dismantle it and move towards a one-party regime.” said Magaisa.
In Addition Advocate Nelson Chamisa the leader of MDC Alliance is refusing to dialogue with President Emmerson Mnangagwa saying that he was hoodwinked on the 2018 harmonized elections mentioning that Mnangagwa must admit that he won the 2018 Presidential elections.
Meanwhile MDC Alliance vice President Tendai Biti was recalled from parliament with other MDC Alliance members a move that the MDC Alliance are describing as a plot to decimate the opposition party ahead of the 2023 harmonized elections.
