Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has been denied temporary use of his passport to go and seek medical treatment outside Zimbabwe.
Chin’ono who was represented by his lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa this afternoon lost against the State, the State saying it fears that he will violate his bail conditions once he leaves the country.
Hopewell Chin’ono who is awaiting his trial scheduled for December from the 7th to the 9th, confirmed this issue on his twitter handle,
“Magistrate Gofa has ruled in favor of the State represented by Lancelot Mutsokoti denying me temporary use of my passport to seek medical treatment for a procedure not done locally! The State said it fears that I might tweet against my bail conditions whilst getting medical care.” He said.
