The Metrological Service Department (Met) has predicted thunderstorms for the next next seven days.
In a statement, Met advised that the whole country will experience heavy down pours accompanied by heavy winds and lightnings.
“Thunderstorms are expected over much of the country, through to Friday 11 December 2020.
“Heavy downpours (in excess of 50mm in 24 hours) are anticipated which will be characterized by destructive winds as well as lightning.” The statement read in part.
For tomorrow (05.12.2020), Met predicted that most parts of the country is likely to receive rains whilst the southern parts of the country is likely to experience mild rains.
“Widespread thunderstorms are expected over Manicaland, Midlands, Matabeleland North, Harare Metropolitan and all Mashonaland Provinces with localised heavy falls in excess of 50mm in 24 hours.
“The Southern parts of the country (Masvingo, Bulawayo Metropolitan as well as Matabeleland South Province) should be cloudy and mild with intermittent rain aswell as drizzle.”
